Cláudia Dias’s early dance training began at the Academia Almadense (1980/89). Proceeded her studies in dance on a scholarship from the Companhia de Dança de Lisboa (1987/89). She attended the Professional Training Course for Contemporary Dance Performers, Fórum Dança (1987/89). She attended the Course on Management of Cultural Projects, Cultideias (2009). She started her work as a performer at the Almada Dance Group (1990/97). She was a member of the artistic group Ninho de Víboras (1997/2004). She was a member of RE.AL where she took part in the group of performers, theorists and artistic collaborators who have decisively contributed to the Real Time Composition Method’s and was a central performer in João Fiadeiro’s work, (2001/2009). She created the plays One Woman Show (2003), Visita Guiada (2005), Das coisas nascem coisas (2008) and the performance/installation 23+1 (2009). She conceived and developed with Márcia Lança the pedagogical course programme in the area of Choreographic Composition at the Casa Municipal da Juventude de Almada. As a result of this course she directed the piece Vende-se país solarengo com vista para o mar (2010). She created with Mónia Mota and João Samões the Cultural Association Os Três Caracóis (2010). At present she is preparing her new creation, which is to be premiered in 2011. Her work, as a performer and creator, has been presented in several theatre rooms and festivals throughout Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Wales and Brazil.
