The Polish Dance Platform aims to seek out and promote the most interesting original dance productions made in Poland or by Polish choreographers abroad. The idea of the event first came to fruition in 2003 at the “taniec.pl”showcase held in Warsaw as part of the Body/Mind International Contemporary Dance Festival. The idea was revisited five years later. To date, Poznań’s Zamek Culture Centre and the Art Stations Foundation have overseen three editions of the showcase: in 2008, 2010 and 2012. In 2013 the two institutions entered into an agreement with the Institute of Music and Dance in Warsaw, making it the main organiser of the event.

In this year’s edition of the project, the selection of performances was entrusted to the artistic committee comprising five artists: Leszek Bzdyl, Stefan Drajewski, Anka Herbut, Edyta Kozak, Anna Królica. Over 80 pieces were submitted for review for the 2017 Polish Dance Platform. At the committee session on 7 January 2017, held at the seat of the Bytom Dance Theatre and the ROZBARK Movement, the Artistic Committee selected 12 performances qualified for presentation at the Polish Dance Platform in Bytom.

Among them there are also Art Stations Foundation’s productions!
