“On Orientations” is a continuation of the long-term creative and physical practice developing in exchange with different artists and practitioners since 2010. Within this frame – designated as “Insignificant Others” – emerged “Untitled Stills” in 2010 and “(learning to look sideways)” in 2011/2012.
“On Orientations” is a site-specific and context-specific intervention/performance.
Untimely Encounters explores notions of simultaneity, overlaps and displacement in the perception of time-space.
The piece is conceived in two parts – the first part functions as an installation, a sensorial, audio-visual environment through which the audience orients and is oriented.
The second part is based on a solo that is enhanced by the encounters with different guests and therefore reflecting on the conditions and the conditionality of one in relation to others.
The solo will focus on an interplay between somatic processes, choreographic and compositoric strategies/schemes and a subtle play with a range in presence. It provides a first reflection on different notions of touch, that will be expanded further by the different guest-modules.
“On Orientations | Untimely Encounters” will elaborate different registers of perception in relation to orientations, in relation to how we conceive of bodies, spaces and desires and how those are in an ongoing interplay.
