Expiria is a study of women’s body. The inspiration for the performance was taken from visual arts and expressionistic dance from the first half of the 20th century. The moving body creates an intimate landscape, appears as the inexhaustible source of energy, power and desire. It is in permanent movement, it perpetually changes and transforms. Through the dance it creates and questions the boundaries between its own abstraction and materiality. It subtly brings out its physical and emotional potential. It plays with form and keeps escaping from it, therefore regaining its autonomy and motive power. The relation which connects body and nature sets free. That energy keeps flowing, opening the new spaces of corporeal freedom.
Co-production with Nowy Theatre in Warsaw and Art Stations Foundation from Poznań.
The performance co-produced by Stefan Żeromski Theatre in Kielce is being created as the part of “Broadening of the Field” (Poszerzanie pola) / programme of choreography by Nowy Theatre and Arts Stations Foundation, curated by Joanna Leśnierowska.
