Imagine a world where every single conflict is solved in duel....
Where women are fighting in the name of their honour...
Where every dispute is a matter of life and death...
Imagine.... how full of passion and honour the world would be...
In “DUEL” two female performers will face each other in order to stage a series of confrontations. They will challenge each other but as well the audience playing with stereotyped images of fighting woman. They will dare and will be daring searching fornuances that make a dispute become a duel, become a game, become a dance...
Agata Maszkiewicz is a choreographer, performer and a dancer. In 2009, she graduated from the Institute of Dance Arts at the Anton Bruckner Privatuniversitaet, Linz, Austria. She continued her education in Montpellier , at Centre Choreographique National, in the ex.e.r.ce programme, under Xavier Le Roy. She is interested in dance in the wider sense, understood as movement (not necessarily human bodies) organized to a greater or lesser extent. Her point of the reference is the social reality which surrounds her and which she tries to transform on stage: sometimes poetically and sometimes comically. This is the reason why Austrian critic- Helmut Ploebst has dubbed her "a socio-critical choreographer". Agata Maszkiewicz works mainly in Austria and France, but also in Poznań, where she regularly collaborates with Art Stations Foundation by Grażyna Kulczyk.
