Doris Stelzer born in Austria, lives in Vienna. Study of food and biotechnology at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna 1989-1997, diploma 1997 and pedagogy for modern dance, Conservatory Vienna, 1996-2000. She studied at a.pass, an interdisciplinary postgraduate course in artistic research in Antwerp, Belgium 2010-2011. Since 2001 own artistic work, collaborating with international performance artists, visual artists like photographer or video and sound artists. She received the danceWEB scholarship in 2001 and twice a foreign scholarship for dance from the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, the Arts and Culture in 2008 and 2010. She was artist-in-residence at the ImPulsTanz Festival 2006 and 2009, Workspace Brussels 2009 and PARTS Summer Studios 2011. In 2008 she was invited as artist-in-residence for nine month at K3 - Centre for Choreography | Tanzplan Hamburg at Kampnagel, there she premiered views in process. Doris Stelzer led workshops in the frame of the authorship 08 at Tanzquartier Wien, Siemens Arts Program 2008 in Hamburg, Conservatory Vienna 2008 and 2010 and she joined the school project “I like to move it, move it“ at Linz 09. In 2012 she was invited to take part in the CPA Choreographic Platform 2012 at ImPulsTanz and her last work lasst uns träumen / let´s dream, dealing with the staging strategies of folksy and schlager music, premiered successfully at Tanzquartier Wien.
